REAL has always been proud of how we have paid our inspirational fundraisers. We believe that having financial security contributes not just to the excellent quality of donor we recruit but creating a financially secure workplace for our amazing ambassadors leads to better retention of staff and most importantly embodies REAL's values of Respect, Ethics, Activism & Love. In 2020 REAL is proud to be accredited by the Living Wage Foundation as a Real Living Wage employer.
This commits REAL to always paying the Real Living Wage or the Real London Living Wage. You can find the current Real Living Wage here as well as a more detailed description of how the foundation works.
Our charity partners kindly passed on some feedback about our fundraisers from their staff and members of the public:
Delighted to see a face-to-face fundraiser back at our door this eve, for local #Oxford hospice @HelenAndDouglas House. Full PPE, safe mobile data process, and reporting plenty of community support. Great job Brian M of @RealFundraising.— Matthew Sherrington (@m_sherrington) August 12, 2020
@RealFundraising just met Tony Stuart in the Chester train station. He's such a nice guy and so good at his job as is evidenced by the fact he signed me up to give cancer research £8 a month. Glad I missed my train now 😁— Polite Anarchist (@PoliteAnarchis1) January 14, 2020
We re-started face to face fundraising this month and your support so far has been incredible, thank you 🙏☺️— Prostate Cancer UK (@ProstateUK) September 30, 2020

ICYMI: A month ago, @tri_liam of @RealFundraising wrote about the future of face-to-face fundraising. In light of the release of our recent guidance with @FundrRegulator on restarting fundraising, it's a good time to look back at trends he examined: https://t.co/wu28NsTZZ0 pic.twitter.com/cim4JmddbI— Chartered Institute of Fundraising (@CIOFtweets) July 3, 2020
Whillst we always strive to reduce our CO2 emissions at the first port of call this is not always possible. As a B Corporation we are bound by our commitment to people and planet. Therefore REAL Fundraising is incredibly proud to be certified Carbon Neutral by Carbon Footprint. Our 2019 certification can be found here where we offset 40 tonnes of CO2.
At REAL Fundraising we believe in 'walking our talk', whether we are buying recycled products or empowering our staff with ways to make ethical choices in their lives. Most importantly, we are in this industry to provide the most cost-effective service to charities.
One way of getting our ethical point across is through our REAL Ethical Fund. Whether it is employee matched funding to causes selected by our fundraising team, emergency appeals from across the globe or our countless displays of Activism with our Pro Bono "activist" days, the REAL Ethical Fund is an embodiment of our will to use business as a force for good.
REAL staff can nominate charities to fundraise for and often the work is carried out for very small organisations which just don't have the budget for a full fundraising campaign. Each and every donor whether its a one-off or regular donor is given straight to the charity for free.
Every member of the REAL Family receives at least 1 paid day per year to donate their time to a good cause.
